Dale Christian School, Armadale

In 2011, Ferguson Architects was engaged to prepare a masterplan for the Dale Christian School campus in 5 stages

Stage 1 – Administration Additions (2012 / 2013) & four new class rooms (2013 / 2014)

Administration Building Additions to accommodate:

• Principal’s Office

• Deputy Principal’s Office

• Business Manager’s Office

• Account’s Office

• Meeting Room

• Student Services (including sick bay zone)

• Archives Room

• Staff Room (40 staff at present – expected growth to 60 staff members)

• Staff Toilets (adjacent to staff room & meeting room)

• Existing Bursar’s office to be converted to Photocopy room

• Existing Principal’s office to be reduced & canteen expanded (ie Cool Room).

• Considerations of Fire hydrant positions & water mains access.

 Four class rooms to accommodate:

• 2 x Kindy ( 40 students)

• 2 x Pre-primary (40 students)

• Toilet & washing facilities

• Dedicated Kindi Playground: 2.3m2 per child (140m2 for 20 students)

Stage 2 – Early Childhood Centre (New Kindergarten & Pre-primary building 2014 / 2015)

Stage 3 – Demolition of Existing House and replace with new 2 storey High School buildings

High School Buildings:

• 8  GPLAs (26 students per class room)

• 2 x Science Labs including a science prep room

• Industrial Arts (Include laundry facilities)

• Home Economics

• New Music Room (Larger than existing music room)

• 2 x Staff Open Plan Offices (3 to 4 staff per office) & Photocopier area

Stage 4 – Removal of Middle School transportables and replace with new car park

• 60 Staff car bays

Stage 5 – Four new classrooms as north west extension of Multipurpose Hall

General considerations: 

• New vehicle Entry & Exit points ( proposed North East corner of site) 

• Parallel parking to the south west side of existing Multi-purpose Hall as much as practical 

• Allow for Temporary parking (50 car bays) until final car park can be constructed 

• Allow for drop off zone (mainly for high school students)
