Edith Cowan University - Computing Engineering Technology Building

Ferguson Architects was commissioned by Edith Cowan University in 2008 to design Building 23 on their Joondalup campus. The completed facility collocates the Schools of Engineering and Technology, Computer and Information Sciences, and the Electron Science Research Institute.

The building houses heavy engineering laboratories and a Motor Sports facility which are located in double height spaces on the Ground Floor for ease of servicing and acoustic isolation. Lighter engineering, teaching and computing laboratories are located on the upper floors disbursed amongst support facilities and staff offices.

The building accommodates a Class 100 Clean Room for “super conductor” research, and external laboratory for alternative energy research.
